The Ford Bronco is finally coming back into the market. The carmaker has recently revealed the teaser image of the forthcoming 2019 Ford Bronco, but it is very difficult to produce a conclusion about how it is going to look like and other specifications. However, it is very likely that the new Bronco will borrow any comparable design cues with the 2019 Ranger model with which it will also share the platform. Furthermore, we expect it to appear with the same engines that power the Ranger and the interior should acquire similar design to the other Ford’s trucks.
2019 Ford Bronco Specs
The Bronco was first presented to the public back in 1996 and basically, it represented a two-door variant of the Ford F-150 model. But, that is not going to be the case with the 2019 Ford Bronco. It will be based on the body-on-frame structure and the same architecture that underpins the Ford Ranger. As well, it is very possible that it will be accessible short- and – long-wheelbase variant and as a two- or four-door model.
As for the exterior design, as we’ve mentioned previously, the 2019 Ford Bronco will get lots of similar styling cues from the F-150. Visually, it is going to receive more modern design but it should retain a number of its retro details. Those should mostly be visible on the grille and rounded headlamps.
Interior and Design
The Ford maker has revealed the teaser image of the upcoming Bronco and judging by this photo; it is expected to feature the recognizable square two-box form and rocky truck styling. It also ought to get larger side-view mirrors, a vertical windshield, and flared fenders. Having a spare wheel mounted on the back along with a tiled roof, the new Bronco will frighten us around the Jeep Wrangler.
Well, it is a bit hard to tell at the moment, since there are still no photos or any specific information. However, we assume that it ought to find a similar design to the other Ford trucks. And, the Bronco will most likely get modern equipment such as the latest infotainment screen using the Sync 3 system. As anticipated, it will most likely come with a two-row seating configuration. Its most important rivals will include Toyota 4Runner and Jeep Wrangler.
2019 Ford Bronco Hybrid
The carmaker has confirmed the hybrid unit and they are now testing the plug-in hybrid version of the approaching F-150. So, it is very likely that the new Ford Bronco will also be available with a hybrid engine. As well, as from the 2018 Ford Expedition and 2019 Ford Ranger, the Bronco must get a typical all-wheel drive and discretionary four-wheel drive system. Its off-road capacities will be much improved too.
2019 Ford Bronco Engine
The upcoming 2019 Ford Bronco will most likely get a V-8 engine under its hood. However, the Ford manufacturer has decided to reduce engines meaning that the V-6 and V-8 naturally aspirated units have been replaced with inline-4 turbocharged and V-6 twin-turbocharged powertrains. Therefore, in this case, the carmaker will do the same with the Bronco as well. The base engine of the 2019 Ford Bronco will most likely be the same engine that powers the new 2019 Ford Ranger. Plus it is a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine.
The Company still hasn’t revealed the specific performance from the Ranger or either Bronco, but this device is equipped to develop 310 horses and 350 pound-feet of torque in the 2018 Ford Mustang EcoBoost. Also, we expect it to be connected to some 10-speed automatic transmission, but it is still not supported if the new Bronco will find a 6-speed manual gearbox.
Furthermore, we assume that the carmaker may even offer it using a V-6 twin-turbo engine at a certain stage in future. As well, we are fairly sure the Ford Bronco will be powered with a 2.7-liter V-6 Ecoboost engine, the same one that is located in the F-150. Maybe, the 3.2-liter diesel might be one of the options too. The new Ranger is available with a 2.3-liter 4-cylinder Eco Boost unit also so that the Bronco may find this one as well.
Price and Release Date
According to the latest news, the 2019 Ford Bronco will make its first appearance at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. The price is not yet understood, but we think it could be around $30,000.
