The forthcoming 2019 Mazda 3 will be more of a facelift to your 3. It will include a new motor, some changes under the skin but the entire experience will still be very similar to that now provided by the continuing model. While this is usually not a notion, it shouldn’t actually be a problem here. Why? The ongoing Mazda 3 remains one of the top cars in its class and it still is among the prettiest also.
2019 Mazda 3 Overview
As before, the car will use Mazda’s highly modular SkyActiv architecture which underpins all the other vehicles too. This modular design allowed Mazda to think of a very rigid design that has hardly any drawbacks. The only real letdown here has to be the electric power steering. Unlike in some of its rivals, the one used here’s a bit lacking in regards to the provided feedback which is a bit of a shame.
Though the car’s platform didn’t change, it appears like the suspension did. Not that long ago a few journalists managed to take a ride to the brand new 2019 Mazda 3 and reported several interesting findings. For starters, the car definitely feels stiffer than its predecessor. This is probably because Mazda tweaked with all the suspension setup in order to make the car as responsive as you can. On top of that, in addition, it seems like the brakes may have been marginally improved over what was formerly offered.
Interior and Redesign
The evolution prototype of the new 2019 Mazda 3 seemed identical to the continuing model. Some suggested that this could mean Mazda used the cars as mules. While we concur that this may have been the case, it does not alter the fact the new 3 is not likely to be all that different from the present vehicle. We can expect a really similar front end using comparable headlights and grilles. The car may get new color schemes, maybe a couple of new rims in addition to another set of tail lights. Sadly though, this is really where almost all of the modifications on the exterior will finish.
The huge changes here will largely be aimed at making the car safer rather than prettier or comfier. The newest 2019 Mazda 3 will comprise new front seats which will have the ability to better dissipate the energy of an accident. On top of that, we can also expect the car to come with a revised infotainment unit and possibly a new instrument cluster. So far Mazda was using analog dials, so things may change with the future 3 which may get a fully digital panel. Read also: 2019 Cadillac XT6 Design, Price, Interior
2019 Mazda 3 Engine
Though there will be a new engine in place, it seems like the bottom version of the vehicle will stick with the 2.0 liter naturally aspirated unit found on the current version. This should still supply around 155 horsepower and 154 lb-ft of torque that’s hardly average for its class. But, Mazda will also release an SCCI variant. This will be a brand new 2.0-liter supercharged spark-compression ignition engine which can run on gasoline but use the identical principle for a diesel.
The best part about this engine is that it will offer all the advantages of a petrol without the drawbacks. The unfortunate part is the fact the engine provides 190 horsepower but it looks as though it does not really feel all that strong. This was probably because the automobile was a development model, so we do expect things will improve with it.
Competition: Volkswagen Golf, Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra, Subaru Impreza and Ford Focus
Release Date and Price
Considering what happened with all the continuing model, it is safe to assume the future Mazda 3 isn’t that way off. When the rumors are not anything to go by then the car should reach on the industry right around the middle of 2018. Its price should stay like that of the present model. The bottom car will probably cost around $19,000 with the higher end models going for much more than that.
