The Ford Bronco is one of Ford’s better crossover also it is, in reality, the car that started the crossover trend more than three decades ago. Regrettably, it was stopped back in the’90s to replace it using a unibody crossover better fit for use on the road. Over two decades after it was discontinued, it seems a new model is eventually going to be published. In the beginning, it was only a rumor, but the 2020 Ford Bronco was supported by Ford a few months ago.
2020 Ford Bronco Overview
This time around the Bronco will share its chassis using the newest Ranger. On top of this it’s expected to boast a comparable running gear and inside but a completely different looking body. Ford said not long ago the Bronco is going to be overbuilt for exactly what it is. This probably means it will be built on a completely boxed in frame aimed at truck use. Thanks to this it ought to have increased torsional rigidity in addition to much more power than an equal crossover chassis. This will more than likely give the Bronco an advantage over some of its rivals.
The four-door variant may get a similar wheelbase to the truck to accommodate more chairs than its shorter sibling. Some also suggested that Ford may use their aluminum experience with this particular model. If this is the case, then it might turn into one of the lightest cars in its class. The price is still unknown, but we could expect the two-door version to cost less than $25,000 with the four-door version going for over $30,000.
2020 Ford Bronco Redesign and Feature
There have not been any official pictures or renders of the 2020 Ford Bronco published so far. Although it’s odd, Ford did this in the past together with the F-150 when they preferred to build an old version’s figure out of aluminum than give the design of their new truck.
This is probably what is happening with the Bronco project. While this appeared equal at first glance, it had been sporting a higher ground clearance and it had a wider track than its European counterpart. This is likely because Ford is trying different suspension configurations for your Bronco. The new crossover will more than likely receive a modern-classic look very similar to what its most important rivals have. But, Ford is also expected to give it a little more flair so we shouldn’t be shocked if they decide to weave into some modern touches.
Interior and Exterior
Though the exterior will be unique, the interior of this 2020 Ford Bronco may have much more compared to all the Ranger than first reported. Now it seems that the two cars might get roughly the same dashboard and set of attributes. Read also: 2020 Ford Explorer Overview, Release Date, Price
There are a few reports indicating the Bronco will get more rugged materials inside to better deal with the off-road ailments. In addition to that, a high-performance model may be added into the mix with exceptional seats, upholstery and instrument cluster. This is expected to be sold by Ford’s Performance Division as specialty merchandise in a similar fashion to the Raptor.
Engine and Specs
The 2020 Ford Bronco is probably going to boast a 2.3 liter turbocharged EcoBoost as its base powertrain. Therefore it should provide a good starting point for it. A better acting twin-turbo V6, probably offering north of 350 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, is also a genuine possibility.
To be able to please everybody it seems Ford will even release a diesel to their Bronco. The most probable powertrain, in this case, is their new 3.0 liter turbocharged V6. So it should have no problems powering the lightweight Bronco. A 6-speed manual will probably be regular on the bottom engine whereas the rest will find a ten speed automatic.
