The class of premium compact crossovers is decidedly one of the most competitive segments in the automotive sector these days. Despite many competitions, the Infiniti QX50 has a set of good things to offer. The current model came more than a year ago and it represents the second generation of this top quality SUV. The Infiniti QX50 2020 will serve the next production year, so we have no doubt it will come without a lot of changes.
The majority of the design characteristics will stay unchanged, which is natural considering the model’s age. We are about to see a comfortable styling, lots of luxury features but a little dose of empowerment as well. Underneath the hood, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will continue with a comfortable turbo-four engine, but do not be surprised if you find a new V6 option in the offer as well. Whatever the case, the new model will come in an ordinary period of a year, sometime in the last quarter.
2020 Infiniti QX50 Redesign
Regarding base design characteristics, this compact crossover definitely won’t change. The current redesign has attracted a lot of novelties and the first thing you will see is a completely new styling. The new model looks a lot more appealing than its predecessor. It follows the brand’s newest design language, which is characterized by a better approach, compared to the preceding generation. Of course, the greatest difference is at the front end, where you can observe familiar headlights and grille designs, the same that could be seen in newest sedans and coupes from this superior carmaker.
Considering the recent advent, the 2020 Infiniti QX50 surely won’t feature more important changes regarding the styling. The best we could get maybe new color choices. Mechanically, there is no chance to see any important change before a mid-cycle update. The new model rides on a familiar D platform and shares most of the parts with the current-generation Nissan Murano. The next year won’t bring any change in conditions of the chassis or suspension installation, but it won’t be surprised when we see a new optional engine at the offer.
Interior and Design
The second production year generally doesn’t bring anything important, except maybe more standard gear. This is where we can see changes for the 2020 Infiniti QX50. It could easily include more standard equipment on the inside, particularly with some new technology goodies. This particularly refers to newest smartphone integration features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, that are now unavailable.
The rest of the cottage will probably remain unchanged, with the exception of possible new color schemes. This redesign has brought significant improvement. While the first model was criticized by not so premium-like cabin, the new model comes packed of soft-touch materials and actual superior interior design. This refers not just to the dashboard design to other areas of the cabin as well, such as front seats which are one of the most comfortable in the class. The rear seat is also pretty comfy and offers a lot of thighs and headroom.
2020 Infiniti QX50 Features
The 2020 Infiniti QX50 will not be just stylish, but functional as well. This cottage is full of storage compartments, although the cargo area is one of the most spacious in the class. There aren’t lots of competitors that may accommodate QX50’s 31 cubic feet behind rear seats. The overall cargo space goes all away up to 64 cubic feet. When it comes to tech features, a new dual-screen layout dominates the dashboard.
The top one runs the infotainment system, while the one below works for climate and other controllers. Both displays are big enough, though we must say that images and answer could be better. Other notable tech features are a six-speaker audio system, satellite radio, and a USB port, Bluetooth, etc. Higher trims offer much more, so you can also get items like a moonroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, 17-speaker premium Bose audio system, navigation and more.
2020 Infiniti QX50 Engine
It delivers pretty impressively 268 horsepower. Besides plenty of electricity, this engine also features pretty excellent fuel economy, better than that many rivals, which also feature less power. With this one, you can rely on 24 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. However, most rivals have V6 choices in the offer. Latest reports suggest that the Japanese manufacturer will also introduce a new V6 engine for this crossover. We are still awaiting the official confirmation.
2020 Infiniti QX50 Release Date and Price
Considering the 2020 Infiniti QX50 will represent the next production year of the new generation, we likely won’t find this model in the market before late 2019. Also, we don’t expect changes in price, so base models must go around 36.500 bucks.
